Tarot

So...today I calculated my Tarot card for this year. To figure it out you count up the numbers of your birth date and month with the current year, so for me that is 21+1+2008 = 2030, then reduce again until you get a number below 21, the number of Major Arcana: 2+3 = 5

Therefore my card for this year is the Hierophant. It is represented in my Tarot deck by Leviathan. The Hierophant stands for "the first step - comprehension - guidance - advice." So far this year it's been pretty accurate.
Last year I was Death, which is "transformation - liberation - change - death and rebirth." That was really accurate, as last year I went through a lot of change.

You know, apparently whenever I had the card Strength (passion - desire - dependence - control) in a reading, it would radiate a lot of energy. I only just realised why. It's the card for my birth :D (21+1+1993 = 2015, 2+1+5 = 8). That explains my attachment to the card :P.

I always use a Dragon Tarot, not just because I love the animal, but because of the three fundamental principals they retain in all forms:
- Natures pure primordial energy, the wild part, instinct, chaos
- A vision of the four elements in one animal: scales for water, four legs for earth, wings for the air, and the breath of flames for fire
- The conflict between male and female principles, often appearing as a spirit serving one of the two principals or directly embodying one or the other.
I find I usually get more personal readings with the Dragons. Other decks just seem too...distant.

So, what is your card this year?

New Story!

Journal Entry: Thu Mar 20, 2008, 10:32 PM
Instead of writing an emo rant about how life is so confusing and annoying, I decided to write about my new story.

It's been developing in my head for a while, but I've finally started writing it...well, the prologue ;P
It's about a character of mine called Soren, though it's told from the point of view of a girl named Adele who eventually becomes quite a central figure. It's sort of a cross between modern, Victorian and fantasy worlds, in that there is technology, but it's expensive and only those highest in society are allowed to own it. There is herbalism and alchemy too, but they can do things that couldn't actually be done without adding in magic.
Alchemy is also restricted to the nobility, but anyone can become a herbalist because that is mostly healing. Alchemy can do anything from draining fatigue to giving a person the ability to fly to the classic turning lead into gold and stones into gems.

It's going to be called Enter the Alchemist and I'll start posting it once I've written a few more parts. The parts will be short though - I'd rather do them in proper chapter-length, but they're just not turning out that way.

So...comments? Opinions?

I'm curious.

If you had to pick a colour, scent, and taste to represent yourself, what would it be?

I know my colour would be red, and the scent something warm, but other than that I have no idea yet ^^;

I'm Sick.

Journal Entry: Thu Feb 28, 2008, 3:07 AM
Or at least I was. I'm over the worst of it now. When I left for school this morning I was fine, slightly queasy, but nothing special. By the end of the last class, I was dizzy and felt like I was going to throw up. After I'd gotten to the bus stop my legs felt like jelly, and I was really dizzy. By the time I was at the bus stop near my house, there was no way I'd be able to make the half hour walk home. When I got home I was freezing, and it was cold outside, so I turned on the heater and put on some extra layers. It was only when I was adding layers while everyone else was removing them that I discovered I was sick. I had some mint tea and went to bed with the intention to 'sweat the fever out'. I had four blankets and my electric blanket turned on. I didn't end up sleeping, though I did doze a bit, but I managed to get over the freezing stage within 3 hours. It took me another hour to get out of bed though, since if I removed the covers I would freeze at first and then end up with a lesser variation of the burning sensation I had while bundled up. Now I'm alternating between feeling like my skin is on fire while under my skin feels like ice, and the complete opposite. I'm dehydrated, haven't eaten anything substantial for most of the day and if I move too fast my vision blurs. But you know what?
I feel fantastic.

Seriously, I feel healthier than I have in ages, despite being sick and unable to focus properly. The burning sensation is absolutely delicious.

Well, I'd better go rehydrate now, and maybe I'll be able to stomach some soup.

I got the day off today because the teachers were striking. I'm so glad - I won't have to put up with blinding headaches due to the massive amounts of screaming females.

And Ini-bach came back today! He's not in much of a mood to let me write though ;P He's just been sitting there with me all day. I'm glad he came back. It's just not the same without him lurking around all the time. Even if he's not going to give me anything to write, it's a relief to have him back.
